Hardware Options

Given the varying requirements among applications and environments, the FullMetrics Analyzer system is offered in two different hardware models and can be outfitteed with various signal conditioning modules. We also offer two data acquisition card solutions to accommodate the type of computer you wish to use.

Models

DirectConnect Analyzer - "DCA"
The DirectConnect Analyzer is our most popular model and was developed for superior and fast flexibility in moving from project to project, as well as being extremely portable.

Designed to enable the user to quickly reconfigure the signal conditioning modules and make connections in a snap, the DCA model provides full access to the module ports on both sides of the unit. With the hot-swappable FullMetrics signal conditioning modules, change outs are both easy and fast.

The size and shape of the unit are nearly identical to a typical notebook computer, so placement and travel are convenient. What's more, the DCA is CE approved and includes an internal, auto-sensing power supply for international use.

If you looking for a DAQ system that can address changing conditions from application to application, or need to hit the road with your gear, the DCA will provide the flexibility and portability you've been looking for. DCA - DirectConnect Analyzer
  • Dimensions: 10 x 12 x 1.75in (25.4 x 30.48 x 4.45cm)
  • Weight: 5.6lbs (2.54kg)
  • Power: internal, auto-sensing 100-240VAC with ground lift switch and alternate ground banana jack.
  • Module bays: 8 two-channel slots, hot-swappable.

Quick Analyzer - "QCA"
Machine Interface Box - "MIB"

The QuickConnect Analyzer has been designed for situations where an installed hardware solution is preferred. With the QCA, all signal conditioning is internalized, leaving no exposed individual connections.

The QCA utilizes the Machine Interface Box, or MIB, to connect to machinery. The MIB is the primary termination point for signals from the machine or process being monitored. In turn, the MIB provides a quick connection to the QCA main chassis via a multi conductor cable. With MIB's at each required process, the QCA can rapidly move from one machine to the next with little to no hardware setup. This saves a great deal of time in troubleshooting or maintenance tasks.

By installing the MIB and sensors once, then utilizing the QCA, safety can be improved and you don't have to worry about major production interruptions in order to set up. QCA - QuickConnect Analyzer
  • Dimensions: 15 x 15 x 2in (38.1 x 38.1 x 5.08cm)
  • Weight: 9.9lbs (4.49)
  • Power: internal, auto-sensing 100-240VAC
  • Module bays: 8 two-channel slots.

Installed at each required location, the MIB provides a cost effective way to bring high-speed data acquisition and analysis to your plant floor. MIB - Machine Interface Box
  • Dimensions: 8 x 4 x 9in (20.32 x 10.16 x 22.86cm)
  • Weight: 4.7lbs (2.13kg)
  • CPC Circular 37-pin connector - digital & analog signals
  • D-sub 15-pin connector - thermocouples

Signal Isolation & Conditioning Modules

FullMetrics offers a variety of standard signal isolation and conditioning modules made specifically for our systems. These modules provide high-quality isolation and conditioning as well as the ability to perform quick change-outs without powering down.*

Each standard module provides two independent channels for the same type of signal and comes in versions for DCA or QCA. DCA modules include two signal cables with color-coded bands and polarized jacks at one end.

The following list includes our standard modules. If what you need is not on the list, don't worry. We can provide modules for most other types of signals as well.

* While our modules have been designed to be "hot-swappable," it is still the responsibility of the user to correctly configure and connect signal wires to the unit. Impropper use may cause damage or injury depending on your application.

160 dB common-mode rejection, 60 dB normal-mode rejection, 20 Vrms field wiring protection.

Data Acquisition Cards

FullMetrics offers the system with either a PCMCIA DAQ card for notebook users or a PCI card for desktop users. These cards are included in the appropriate system package. When placing your order, be sure to specify which type of computer you will be using with this system.

FullMetrics uses high-quality, high-speed data acquisition cards that will also work with other software applications, such NI's Labview, with the correct drivers.
